I bought this car brand new. It has never been in an accident and I have never had any issues with the car. We need to sell it because I’m looking at vehicles that are a little larger. There is a little rust on the back genders above the tires and some very minor dings from rocks on the hood. Other then that the car is clean and in great condition. All features are in good condition and working order.

I WILL POST MORE PHOTOS AND INFO ASAP. MY APOLOGIES FOR THE DELAY THIS IS ONE OF THE NICER 2001 MODEL ESCAPES YOU ARE LIKELY TO FIND FREE WARRANTY This means exactly what it says. I will give any buyer a FREE WARRANTY for 7 days or 500 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty covers the engine, transmission, differential, brakes and suspension. I will either replace any part of these systems if they fail within the warranty period or will buy the vehicle back for 10% less than the selling price at my discretion. NOBODY else on Ebay offers a FREE WARRANTY of any kind. If a vehicle can go 500 miles without a mechanical incident, it likely isn't going to have any problems in the near future. VEHICLE HISTORY It has always been in the low desert area of sunny Southern California, so there is no damage or rust from salt from the ocean or salted roads etc. The only "offroading" it has ever done is on a couple of graded dirt roads, which are smoother and flatter than some freeways. SERVICE HISTORY It was serviced every 6 months or 6,000 miles, whichever came first, which is more frequent then the dealer schedule. The suspension and CV joints were also regularly inspected for wear and serviced. MILEAGE Around 70% of the miles are freeway miles, so the trans has not spent nearly as much time shifting as a trans on one that has seen a lot of in town driving. Plus freeway driving is a lot easier on the engine. FUEL ECONOMY Although it has a V6 engine, these Escapes still get a real world average of 19 - 21 mpg and 28 - 30 on the highway if one does not drive like Mario Andretti. This is only 1 mpg less than the pathetically slow and gutless 4 cylinder Escapes get which barely have enough power to tow an empty wheelbarrow, which is probably why I have never seen a tow hitch on an Escape that had a 4 cylinder engine. RELIABILITY These Escapes are known for their reliability and for going well over 200,000 miles with some having over 300,000 with no mechanical issues at all providing that they are simply serviced as per Fords maintenance schedule. OPTIONS In addition to the usual power options, this one also has a power windows, power door locks, factory cruise control. It also has ABS brakes, AM/FM Cassette, factory 16" Aluminum wheels, factory engine oil cooler, and AWD/4WD. It also has a factory trailer hitch which has never been used. AWD & 4WD This has full time All Wheel Drive, which means the front wheels always drive and the rear ones drive when any front wheel slip is noticed. It also has the extremely rare dedicated 4 Wheel Drive high option, which means it functions more like a true 4 wheel drive but the differentials aren't locked, but it does so at the regular gear ratio. This setting can only be used off road or in the snow etc. The Escapes do not have 4WD low like a traditional 4WD vehicles does. BRAKES The rotors are smooth with no heavy grooves and the car stops perfectly straight when hitting the brakes hard form 40 mph with no hands on the steering wheel. The rear pads have 40% life left and the fronts have 70% left, so they will not need replacing for quite some time. STEERING There is zero free play. If you move the steering wheel just 1/4", the vehicle starts to turn. ENGINE It has zero leaks or abnormal noises or ticking sounds etc and it runs like new and never smokes. ENGINE VIBRATION I have driven several of these V6 Escapes and around 1/2 of them had a slight engine vibration that they should not have, so I suggest you check out any in person that you are interested in before you buy it as this may be a sign of a big problem soon to come. This one has absolutely zero vibration. ENGINE MOUNTS Because of the engine mount design, and the power the V6 engine has, it is common for the rear engine mount to go bad on these when they near 100,000 miles. A bad rear mount won't cause any damage or any vibration, but it should be replaced to keep the engine secure. I checked the mounts on this one and the rear was not bad but it was getting weak so I replaced it. I also replaced the right side engine mount because that one is similar to a shock absorber and it had a very faint squeak, so I figured it was best to replace it also, plus I hate squeaks and rattles etc. TRANSMISSION No leaks or noises and it does not "spin up" or slip at all between sifts. It shifts extremely solid just it it did when it was new. SUSPENSION No squeaks or rattles or klunks when going over bumps etc, and the shock absorbers perform like new. It has also been regularly inspected and serviced. WHEELS It has the optional aluminum wheels that are in beautiful condition as can be seen in the close up photo of one of them. ENGINE COMPARTMENT It was dusty from being being driven for 14 years but there was no oil anywhere, so I sprayed it with simple green then rinsed the dust off and it looks nearly like it rolled off the showroom floor. There was no oil or grease build up, and the plating on all the hardware is still nice and not surface rusted like it is on some of these cars. All the original factory paint daub marks and decals are still there and they all look nearly like new. The paint on underside of the hood also still looks nice with no surface corrosion or staining etc. UNDERCARRIAGE It is clean with no surface rust on the floor pans. BODY It is very nice and there have been no accidents or dents and there is not even a single door ding. PAINT The paint still has an excellent shine and there is no fading or peeling or cracking etc. There are zero scratches. The only flaws in the paint are a few chips from typical use, however, none of these are larger than the size of the head of a pin, therefore, they are hard to see unless one is only a couple feet away, and even then, one has to look closely to see them. INTERIOR It looks nearly showroom new. There are no signs of wear in the material on the drivers seat and no stains or discoloration in the material, and it is not "dingy" looking from someone with dirty pants riding in it every day, so it still looks extremely nice. The other seats have virtually never even been sat in and never had anything transported on them so they all look showroom new. All the print on the buttons and knobs looks like new as though they have never even been used. There are zero scratches on the door panels and dash.
